anybody know how to take the chain off of a ds-650? I can't find a master-link.

 

Stock there isn't one. You either have to pull the swingarm or get a chain breaker tool kit.

 

guess i'll just cut it off, since i need a new one anyway. anybody know where to get a descent chain at a descent price?

Also how do you do a 520 conversion? I might want to look into that.

 

It is the size of the chain. The stock chains on the DS are 530 if you go 520 you get less rotating mass. You can get kits from Sidewinder but they aren't cheap you can buy the sprockets and chain separate for less money. My husband has a Sidewinder kit and it has worked out great for him.
