Flux, that's a loaded question. Your sprockets will/should be determined by what you are doing. 300ft drags, Hill shooting, Desert Riding, quadcross, woods, mud, cruzing through fire roads.... You'll have to give us more info if you need our help.

Also, let us know how big you are, what carb, cams etc. etc. All 800 are NOT made the same.

Let us know.

LOTS of motor for trails. I'd probably stay pretty close to stock (16/40) if I could. Go to high and you'll be throwing the front wheels up all day. I'd probably go up one in the front if I had a choice though. Are the trails tight or are they open? I'd probably go with a plus 2 or 4 swinger as well. Then again you aren't hill shooting.

Stay with stock if you can, also get a 17 and a 15. Fronts are much cheaper than the rears.

thanx.....
the trails i ride are very open, there snowmobeal trails in the winter and ATV trails
in the summer.... the motor i ran this year wes a hpr 730 with all the other mods except the 8mm stroker crank and it had a big gun full system.... a ton of power,
but stock gearing didnt want to pull higher rpms, 5 gear down a long flat trail
would max out at about 7800 rpms, but 4 gear would pull to red line 8900.....
according to eric the diff between a 730 and a 800 is huge...... cant wait...

With the engine you have, you should try 18 teeth. You have so much power, it will pull it easily and you will have more top when you need it. But you should do your own tests.Personally I have 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 teeth for the front and 36, 38 and 40 for the rear. I have tryed a lot of setup and I change often depending what I do.
