Default pami cams

I've been working on ligtening my quad and was looking at the pami site, and noticed they have lightened cams. basically looks like they drilled the centers out of the lobes. has anyone ran these. Seems i heard they also have cam gears that are light, anyone have info on those?

SANDMAN,
Are the cams bored through the shaft or under the lobe?

I do not think you will see enough weight savings for these to make a difference in the weight of your quad, that being said I think these will let the engine rev faster and put less stress on the timing gears and chain, and if drilled under the lobe better balance.

Even this savings would be smaller than the actual weight as the cams rotate at 1/2 the speed of the engine. It will be interesting to get input from someone that has run these.

I had them in my engine.

The lobes were drilled out. I thought they may have been made out of a lighter weight steel too???

Call Jeff Ross, he'll know more.

the reving is what i would think is being helped the weight is 110 grams per cam, so at 28 gram per oz. that would be about half a pound savings.

Bill I have a pami 760 and I think I was told it had billet cams. Im going to sell them but ill weigh them and take them out for you in a few weeks if you want. Unless your in a rush and want them now I can pull them since the motor needs a re-build anyuhow.
