Default axle options

well looks like the aluminum axle is the best for weight savings, but do they hold up to duning? is there any other options that are lighter than stock, but very durable, i have reduced the weight on my ds a lot but, not sure what to expect. seems it will be in the weight range of the raptor 400 ex so a lighter axle should be possible. the tread on the 250 r axle was interesting. didn't some guys use a banshee swingarm on the ds a few years ago? i just can't remember what they had to do to make it work.
