Default battery and filters

lately when i start my quad, if it doesnt run by the third try my battery is dead and i have to jump it. is this just a battery on its way out or could this be a charging issue? if i run it for a while and shut it off the battery holds its charge for days it just dies pretty quick when i try starting it.

also i was wondering were everybody gets there oil filters? i'm gettin tired of spending 13 bucks everytime i get one from the dealer. theres cheaper ones on ebay but are they of the same quality? thanks in advance for anyhelp

You don't say how old your battery is but age can have an effect of them, as well as temperature.
The filters on ebay in lots of four or five are OEM replacements. I've used them with no issues whatsoever. The stainless reusable filters are nice to have though if you can find them.

i got a new battery yesterday and i cannot believe how much better my quad is running all around, maybe i'm just imagining it but it seems to be smoother and have more power all the way through the revs now

forgot to mention i did an oil change as well and for the first time i notice a small amount of milky white stuff on the dipstick, could that just be from riding in alot of slushy snow? or is it probably my water pump seal? i've read some other threads that say to use a bmw part, anyone have the number and whats that gonna cost me? or should i even worry if its just a small amount? thanks once again for the help in advance, i'm sure this forum has saved me hundreds already

Why would you recommend the stock Yuasa? Both my 04's were shot within 2 seasons. I don't have much confidence in them and think they are junk. On the other hand both my Odyssey's are almost two years old and neither one has failed me... They hold a charge for months without having to put a tickle charger on them and they start up like a champ.
