Default YOU TELL ME GUY

We have not had much luck in comunicating with the fsc crew so we are in the air right now. We have the Rio Rico drags and the dome valley both. Are real close and they are more regulated proprer set up asda events if we don't feel good about the classes we won't attend. What is being called the duners class no one out there could make a thirty minute dune trip and thats wrong because if you look at the pics on the fanatics the yellow ds there was a real duner and he was hanging and bangng with the super light fake duners but did fall due to the fact that they were not real dune class bikes.BUT HE LAID WASTE TO QUITE A FEW.Before they got him.

Richard- The duner class has changed as people build. There are a few limitations. I dis see a buddy of mine take a win in the stockbore duner class. There is a combined weight rider/bike so they weigh the same if you didnt know. They use that to level the playing feild. And the dude on that light duner weighs 270+ and rides it like a maniac. I was scared watching him imho.

I think if you ran a LIGHT OEM frame with your set up you would be in the running for all power adder classes. Work on that clutch, Take out some CC so the torq doesnt destroy your clutch and your there. Once the classes are set in stone as most are you can build around them. what do you think? Let me know if you need me to give Tom some ideas.

AZ your point is well taken. It's just what I was dealing with when I had mine. I was the 2nd fastest duner in the nation for three straight national races. SUCKS! Ask Mario, I was really down. You are right, the DS is just so heavy that to compete with a something like a new Raptor with all kinds of light doo-dads. Trust me, I know. To be close, I had to be everything but a duner. I was down to 435lbs wet. The Raptor that kept beating me was dumping thousands into the motor, even up to 3 days before the big day. This raptor was outfitted with an Aluminum "Play Axle", super light shocks and everything trimmed down to a minimum. His raw weight was 374. They run the class with what "They think the lightest DS duner could be and then ad a standardized weight for rider and that makes up the weight requirements. I had my bike and pilot within !lb of the raw limit. And obviously my bike was extremely fast. Still was too heavy. Thing about it, the raptor probably could have been a legitimate Duner. It was a legit ride. The DS is just to heavy to compete in that class, in my personal opinion. Crap, I had Shaws on the front and the bike was pretty stripped with Triple Buffs all the way around! I just couldn't lose anymore weight under the rules.

And don't forget, there is no limit on motor size. I was running my HPR730 and I was up against the newest and best 810CC raptor motor on the market.

Pretty sick!

Also, my motor is still one of the most powerful motors out there. It's in the black bus now and hands out moppings on a regular basis. Tough to compete that kind of structure. Shoot, even the Sumo class is a crock of sorts. Few true big guys, and most of the fastest riders are average guys with weighted back packs. Heck Bomber ran Marios Black Bus which took home a heap of trophies in the event.

Basically, the sumo is run weight on any sled at the event. You are probably going up against king of the hill with a heavy total weight rider. I think that class should be a legitimate duner with a big guy. Big guys should be 240plus!

Big Mike is right on the money.

His bike was so close. I personally think if he would have just ran a play alum axle that would have made the difference he woulda made 1st no prob his MPH was SICK for a duner! The duall carbs on Mikes Ds made her a complete animal. Newer cams would have put him good in 1st. I know, woulda shoulda, But Ive been on the dyno enough with the new updated cams with the dualls make a HUGE difference. Oh and -20 lb on the rotating mass is just common sence as to what it would have gained. Mikes DS BARELY lost the way it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, got the time off, real boss's (wifey) permission and will be there for the 3rd race.

I have never been to Dumont, so will need a little direction on finding camp on arrival.

Getting there early Friday and leaving early Sunday.

Look forward to seeing, meeting all of you.

Scott

Yea i know what you guy's are saying im just whinning. The monorail had no running issues mario we ran two passes on her she sputtered a tad. I went back to the trailer and filled her with gas... she ran just fine.We only run her with 2.6 cups of fuel on the track that did not get it on the hill.once she was filled she ran flawlessly on the hill.Like ive said she had the second fastest mhp and beat all the 4cycl's that attempted her.she even laid waste to the kms bike the one time we went up the hill together during pratice. We are very confident in the monorails abilities. The elec fire is just one of those thing's.And as far as the clutch is concerned it will hold on the hill just fine for a good 20 passes. And even so my ol'lady can swap a clutch in 22 mins at the dunes. They have pictures @ the crazey photo squad of her doing it."Yes i also have the hottest mechanic going."Well back to the subject. I do not feel that any of the bikes i seen could have made a dune trip and that takes away from the class"Duners". Which is what brings in a lot of real people because they actualy think they have a chance to win something. And wham there stomped all over by the pro's. And i do undestand its there event and once its in stone its there. But even the ten comanments are written in stone and yet thier broken every day. Just because some one took the time to right them in stone.dose not mean mankind cares. And once mankind quits caring like with the comandments they too will be lost in time with no real following. And undestand guy's i did not even know the guy's from AE Racing. I just was disapointed they had made major steps by themselfs (They don't do the forums) And were realy disapointed in the lopsidedidness of the event. And i think i have proved over and over i will not take ill gotten booty. I have left a lot of trophies setting due to the fact the class was wrong and i have to sleep knowing i fought a good fight.I had the shoe'in @ planet sand and drove out of my lane and loaded the bike up for the same reasons.I TAKE MY WINS VERY SERIOUSLEY.And i know when my daughter(Whose three) Looks up at my trophie case and shows her friends daddys trophies she can be proud because daddy realy won them.

Are the duners running in frame exhaust with mufflers like the rules say?
