DS450 problem
#1
I bought the ds bout to weeks ago from Progressive Powersports in KC, MO. From the start those idiots gave me the wrong title and had to drive 45 mins back up there to get the title with the correct VIN on it. My ds came with yosh full exhaust and nerf bars. Not sure with model but its not the titanium $750 one. Took it for some rides but at about 5 hours of breaking it in and taking it pretty easy i discovered a puddle of coolant under while it was garaged the next day and found the leak at the top of head. So i figure it a bad seal or blown head gasket. I have the manufactures warranty till july and the dealship is fixing it. I was wondering what else could that leak mean and should i be compensated for anything else. I shouldnt be having problems with a brand new quad that cost 8400 and with less than a tank of gas in it. Is there any kind of lemon laws for quads?

As far as knew Can Am only put out two models, the X which is black with nerfs and skids, and the stock ds 450. maybe I am wrong. Im just thinkin here if it has yosh and nerfs on it if it wasnt a demo or somethin. Maybe the Can Am riders can give you a better idea. Thats just kinda strange but maybe I am wrong.

I see. Well I doubt there is a lemon law on them but as long as Can Am stands behind it I wouldnt worry to much about it. And the way I understood it I thought Can Am gave three year warantees on there products, isnt that right?

From what I can tell, you are pointing at the valve cover. Only oil under it???
If the FI is like the Raptor's, there is a coolant line going to and from the EFI. . . from the looks of the pic the throttle-body is higher than the valve cover. Could a hose have come loose from the throttle-body and coolant run down the hose to the valve cover???? I know it is a longshot.
The head gasket is the next line down. . . where the greyish-brown casting meets the silver casting??? This is where I would expect to see a head issue.
How's your oil look? Is it milky at all?
In CA to be a lemon it needs to be in the shop for the SAME ISSUE at least 3 times and in the shop x number of days out of x number of days owned. A single issue doesn't make it a lemon. If turns out to be a leaking hose, that hardley makes it a lemon.

Took it to a dealer. Said exhaust gasket wasnt seated right and loose clamp on hose. I guess when it leaked it flowed to the back of the head where the gasket sits. So hopefully this will be the only problem with my quad for a while.
