Hi I have a new Renegade X(love it) and was wondering if there is a way to change the greeting that comes up. The renegade x has a digital dash and when you start it a little hello type message comes up.

I would like to know how to change the name or greeting to something else I,m hoping its just a key combination of some kind

 

Nope. Gotta have a programmer like the dealer. I've already talked to the dealer about changing mine - I bought a slightly used Outy two weeks ago and it's coded with the former owners name plus the odometer is set to metric. Dealer said there would be about a $30 charge to change it.

that's ridiculous, $30. probably because you didnt buy it from that dealer. My dealer changed mine for free, no questions asked. Doesn't take but ten minutes.

 

Yep, that $30 is BS. All they do is plug a laptop to it and type in your greeting.

 

yeah thats BS i bought mine in north carolina and i live in west viirginia and my dealer here chaged it for free also...

 

Follow up. Went to the dealer this morning to pick up my TRX that was in for repairs. They went ahead and reprogramed the Outy - no charge.
