Just picked up a 2001 today...Runs very strong, needs a couple of things...brake side footpeg is a little mis-shapen, and the original owner says he can't keep a tail light in it, keeps burning out...Also would like to have an owners manual , so I will know the exact fluids to use...Any help or suggestions would be appreciated..

Congrats, I had the same problem with the light, finally bought a cool Billet LED off ebay for about 20 bucks. No problems since. Like

The manual will not do you any good. You can use any oil made for wet clutch... I use Honda oil, takes a whole gallon... just remember to crank the engine when the oil tank is full to work it into the case (assumeing you drained both tank and case)... any motorcycle coolant will work, I like Engine Ice. There are tons of opinions on fluids (especially oil) do some searches and you will see all the various opinions.
