I just got 3 hrs on my new RenegadeX and noticed a continual squeak when I'm moving at slow speeds or idling in neutral. Wondering if this is normal? Doesn't make a noise as long as it is in gear or under a load.

 

ive got almost 600 miles on mine and it makes a noise like that when in neutral and when i put it in gear it quits so i guess its something to do with the tranny just how it is. i havent had any problems with it though other than that little noise..

 

My inlaws Outlander does the same thing, it runs fine I think it is the sound of the trans and engine combined.

 

Thanks for the info. Thought I might have pushed her a little too hard during this break in period.

 

Mine whines a lil in neutral or park too, I think it is normal (I hope).

I've owned a good hanful of can-am's, outlanders and renegades- every one would have a slight squeal while idling and disapear when shifted into gear. It's a common sound.
