motor is rebuilt but all stock and all new. i installed a muzzy slip on off of a 1999 cbr1000rr but the airbox and carburetor is bone stock. the harder i ride it the reder it gets. it even glows while it idles anfter riding. i thought i might install a bigger main jet think this will help? thanks.

I'm sure that the Jet will help a lot. With that new pipe your motor is breathing better and needs more fuel to compensate. That glowing thing does not sound good though, Dang.

i have seen a few stock yamahas glow like this before. im gonna step up the jet and adjust my needle and maybe drill a few 1" holes in the air box lid. you would not belive how the slip on sounds thats off fo a streetbike. real hard deep bark

Keep in mind that if you force additional air in by drilling holes or taking off the lid you will need to jet up even more. More air is more fuel. I would suggest getting your jetting correct from needle clip placement to main jet first. Then start changing your air flow again.

yup, need more fuel. I'm in the second 3rd groove down with a 185 dyno mainjet but I have a #40 airjet so the top doesn't lean out (OMR stock carb mods). No lid and took the gasket and rubber hold downs out from the airbox so there's more free flowing air. don't have my endcap on my exhaust yet or my big gun cdi but right now in the cold it seems to be running very well. havnt been able to take it for a test ride yet, just from the garage to the fence.
If you have a stock carb I highly suggest doing OMR's stock carb mods. better throttle response and when you're reving high it's not gonna lean out. but principle ive learned,
MORE AIR=MORE FUEL
