Default 2006 Outlander Issues?

I am looking at a 2006 Outlander 800 for sale locally, but am new to the utility ATV world. The ATV has bent racks (haven't been to see it yet). Are there any 'bugs' with the 2006 models? Anything in particular I should pay close attention to? The seller stated that the frame was not bent (I read that the frame could be considered a weak point).
I will be riding with a Sportsman 700 and HAVE to be faster, but from what I have read that should not be a problem. Thanks in advance!

You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

They need skids and get the latest BUDS update. HPG shocks and HD springs are nice. Carry extra tp with you and it should be all smiles.

To me bent racks means there has been a crash or it was rolled. I guess if you check the frame out, test drive it and the price is right then there should be no problem.

As far as reliability the 06 I had I put 1200mi on it in 1 yr with no problems.I have had the 07 renegade about the same amount of time and also have over 1k mi with still 0 problems,so I can only talk about my own experiences with can-am which have been execelent.

OK, bought the Outlander. Got it pretty cheap, but... The cast aluminum piece that the upper left front shock mounts to is broke in two. I can have it welded with no problem, but knowing this piece is broke, should I look for anything else (a arms, etc) specifically? I have found no other problems. Thanks.
