DS650 dont run right?
my mods were also done for a while. mine did it when it got cold. i did not have enough juice in my battery to make it fire, it would roll but not fire. doesn't take long to foul plugs running a 180 main jet. I would deffinately check the cdi box. it sounds like your not getting enough spark or the correct spark timing. the hissing may be your compression coming back through your carb from not firing.

Nearly all of the aftermarket CDI manufacturers recommend that you have a great battery and that it is FULLY charged - otherwise you will have starting issues.
Just for kicks, start your car or truck, let it run for a minute and hook a set of jumper cables to your DS. See if it fires right up - if so, then your DS battery is too weak or too old to do the deed.

Ok guys, I took it upon myself to actually rip the carb apart instead of my buddy this time. When I took the carb out I noticed that the rubber on the intake is really cracked and dry rotted. I didnt get to replace it yet but took the carb apart and cleaned everything and checked the diaphram. The diaphram looked great so I put it all back together and it wanted to start but still wouldnt. The battery dies out really quick so I want to replace it. I couldnt have done it with out all your help guys. Thanks a bunch!

yeah man! the big bombs like the full juice from a fresh battery and deffinately need good intake tubes. you should not have any problems after that is replaced. I would still check your plugs after you run it a little to make sure your not running lean. they like their fuel too, especially with a pipe and air filter. At least mine does out here on the east coast. Good luck man!

Yeah, So far so good! I wanna replace that boot tomorrow along with trying to rejet it tomorrow. What would be the best battery to get for it? I am going to Trevorton on the 22nd so I would like to get everything done before. Thanks again guys, Maybe I'll see someone there!
