help,...cant get steering stem out

Default help,...cant get steering stem out

any tips on how to get the steering stem out,...ive tried to get it out from inbetween the arms...and tried to pull it up from the top,...i just cant get it to clear any of the rails on the fram....any ideas???

stupid question but...did you take off the gas tank? Thats what i did with mine and had very little trouble taking the stem out that way.

You have to turn it completely around and tip it to the side. Maybe get a second set of eyes out there that usually helps. I was out there with my husband when we took his off and I don't think he would have gotten it off with out getting really frustrated. But apparently I just saw it different than him and got it right out. Hope that helps.

Yea u should take the gas tank off, it comes out from the top

finally got it,...mine musta just be bent enough to make it hard,...i had to take it out from the bottom,...it was caught up on the a-arm bolt,...so i removed that and just had to beat the top till it went....getting the new one in better be alot better....lol

They go in and out from the top fairly easy, you have to spin it around backward and lean it to one side to come in or go out.
