Default ds650 axle

What is the procedure to get a sprocket hub on the axle.
Tried sliding it on, it goes on about half an inch then stops.
Tried pounding it with a rubber mallet but it won't go move any further.

The hub is brand new and the axle splines look good.
The rotor hub slides on and off the axle without any force.
I'm sure that i'm missing something.

I had a bearing failure on this side and the bearing race was stuck on the axle.
I took the axle into the shop and they removed the stuck race and the spindle hub.

Put the hub in an oven.. I would say 280 degrees for 15-20 min it will slide then right in. Make sure to use oven mitts and possible gloves. Let it cool down on it's own.
