stator only charges AT IDLE
put a volt meter between the voltage regulator and the battery [you will have to disconnect the positive wire from the voltage regulator] look and see if the voltage drops if it drops your voltage regulator is the first suspect, if dose not then your cdi is going bad when a stator goes bad it don't put out anything

stator only charges AT IDLE
BIG THANKS TO BIG RAY!!I remembered that the procom rectifier was supposed to cut the power to reduce drag on the magneto when the battery shows full charge but it doesn't give it enough power to keep the battery charged because with the power cut, the accessories(lights, cdi, etc)drain power directly from the battery. At idle the battery fluctuates between 13.00 and13.40 and drops to 13.26 with the lights on.When you rev it it drops down steadily with or without lights.I reinstalled my stock rectifier and it shows 13.56 volts with or without lights and it does not fluctuate. The Procom rectifier is new so I did not suspect it.Thanks again BIG RAY!!!
