Default ds650 backfire

ok so i have an ALBA racing pipe, k and n air filter and a modified airbox on my ds and whenever i rev it up and let off the gas it backfires...a few times too. i dont have a jet kit on yet so idk if thats the case. Also along with the backfire come a hugggge powerloss from what it was stock...im not too happy. i was thinking maybe it needs more fuel...actually im hoping thats the case. i was also thinking about how strong the spark is??? maybe i need to get like a rev box...i heard they give u a more powerful spark along with another 1000 rpms... if anyone has any idea about whats goin on plz let me know... i would really appreciate it!!!

Needs more fuel fo sho, go up on your main and raise the needle and it should be all good.

I agree with the others who have replyed... in fact you may be dangerously lean with a pipe, filter, modded air box, and stock jetting.

yeah thats what i was thinkin but idk...i took it out for a spin for maybe 5 mins and just in 2nd gear...hopefully no damage was done! do u guys think with the bigger jets, that i will need a rev box too?? does that even do anything that makes it worth buying??

If its jetted properly an aftermarket CDI is nice but not neccessary. Try a 185 main.

Do you NEED a rev box? No.

But, believe me, you sure do WANT one!
I do like the Big Gun CDI - which still has a rev limiter, but it is raised compared to stock & the timing is advanced for more power without going overboard or getting dangerous.
