if you want loud for cheap grab an end cap off of ebay, i have a HPR on on my 02 it was last tested at 107db (yeah that was a ticket = [ ) great power gains as well, imo its better than my slip on on my 03

Ditto on the ebay end cap, the thing is smooth sounding. It's actually not all that loud but just enough to sound Sweet. It's only 69 bucks and has a nice Deep throaty sound. It's a nice cheap alternative. 2 thumbs up. My new full custom CT pipe is a crap load louder but I didn't notice a ton of power gain over the stock pipe with the ebay end cap. You can see a pic of the end cap in my photo page in the top/center picture on my DS. Good luck.

Thanks. i liked the sound of that hmf. my las wheeler was a 400ex with a bunch of motor work dont to it and now i have the ds and the bottom end isnt snappy enough for me. so i was thinking instead of that end cap a pipe and a header will give me a lil bit more snap. but the noise is more important to me right now.

As a heads up a pipe and header will not really give you any more power or snap. The biggest advantage is the weight savings. So if power is what you want and you want to save cash for a better upgrade, I would do the end cap for sure. Then find a used TM45 carb and that thing will move.

Actually, I would still recommend the HMF pipe (slip on) a filter, and the OMR carb mods. Then drop the front sprocket a tooth, and he will be set. It will gain a lot of overall power, and increase the snap on the bottom nicely.

I have a pro circuit t4 slip on. I have liked it quite well I don't know if it will be loud enough for you though. From what I have heard though the best power for slip on would be the HMF. Best of luck and congrats on the beast
