Default NEW GUY- '07 DS250 rejet questions (a little lost here)

Hello, I am new here

Short story short-

Bought wife a DS250, she is already griping about it being too slow after two months.

Mods for these are few and far between-
I can only find one pipe available, and I don't really like the looks of it, so I took a sawzall to the factory end cap up to remove the spark arrestor and make the output larger. (big difference for 10 mins worth of work)

Rejetted carb from 105 main to 120 and left the pilot alone @ 35????( if I remember right )

I moved the needle to the highest position ( the lowest groove...was originally only one notch higher/lower however you want to look at it )

Quad runs nicely now but I can not seem to get a bit of hesitation out of it when you snap the throttle hard. If you hit it hard enough you can actually choke the engine so bad it stalls. The mixture screw does not seem to make much of a difference. This only happens at rather low RPM's, I can get rid of it by turning the idle up high (too high to leave that way though)

Any ideas on where Im going wrong?

I am thinking I need to either readjust the needle or get a different pilot jet, but I am not sure.....could the main be too big?

You did what? Took out the endcap, and then even rednecked the hole bigger? Where did you get the 120 jet for this thing?

I would just play it safe and do this:

1) Get fmf powercore4 pipe for ds250
2) Get durablue powerfilter
3) Get dynojet stage1+2 jetkit
4) Install all these (stage2 DJ ofc, not stage1)
5) Take off airbox lid.
6) Ride the heck out of it.

By the way, have you found any clutch kits for this thing?

The power mods wont help this automatic quad reach full potential without a clutch kit I think.

hmmmm, I looked at fmf's web site like the week before last aqnd could not find a pipe for it. I will look now. And yes I did "redneck" the endcap lol, out of what I thought was necessity not because that is normally how I do things though

Edit- no luck on a clutch kit yet either.

Runs a 730 kit from OMW with web109's and a 48mm lectron. It has some serious torque!

Try looking for Kymco Mongoose 250 parts. I think they are interchangable.

Default ds 250 lack of power

we have a 08 DS250 replaced the rear sprocket, put in a Full Power Preformance clutch kit, a Dyno jet carb kit, Removed the air box cover. did some exahust mods and just deterimed the machine is just slow . we love the ride but it is slow. we are trading it in for someting faster don't know what we will buy but this thing will go. Full Power said they were coming out with a larger carb kit for it but they won't return my calls about it. Shame cause their clutch kit did wonders for the machine. BRP missed the boat on this one. Been an avid Bombardier Owner of their toy's since 1985. Also own a 650Max XT tranny broke twice in less than 1000 miles. Love the ride, Just too much troble
