Default HELP!!! 06 800 outlander

Well guys heres my problem I have an 06 outlander with about 1800 miles on it or so, about 3 weeks ago it was burning oil left and right. I went through about a quart in 50 miles or so, went back to my can-am dealer they told me to change air filter and put new oil in blah blah. They said if the problem persits they will look into it further. Well I just got back from another good ride with the quad put about 100 miles on or so, it is still burning the oil. It is not as bad as before but still should not using so much oil, I think i went through about 3/4 of a quart in 100 miles. It is running soo rich it is pushing out black smoke, and riders behind me can even smell it. Any ideas thanks!

Its it still under b.e.s.t. warranty? They may be stalling... If not and you see black smoke, coolant temp sensor would be the first thing I would look at. Did you swamp it, any water through the intake? BRP dealer shold be able to check these with a laptop. Also, is the check engine light on?

Call your dealer, make sure they have the sofware to actually scan it ( the dealer where I bought mine did'nt at the time). Black smoke = rich= washed out rings=fuel in the oil=more oil consumption. Dont let them get away with just fixing the fuel problem so fast though..... washed out rings = worn out rings. have them do a compression check and verify it yourself if you can..... a boroscope check of the cyl. walls would be nice too.

Yup the outy goes back to the dealer today after work, loaded it up last night, I do truly think I lost a cylinder, and or have a cracked ring, I started the the machine up last night and it seemed like it had a knocking noise coming from the engine, oh well time will tell I hope BRP treats me right with my warrenty
