How many wheels turn when you are in 4WD?

Being it's not a polaris I would make an educated guess and say 3.
Sorry I don't really know but you sure walked right into that one. Werent you at the Polaris Forum asking about the Sportsman not long ago thinking of getting one. I know the Renegade seems exciting but you cant beat that Sportsman ride and reliability with the new ones.
But I'm not a major brand basher we all share the same passion for riding and as long as your out there I couldnt care less what your on. I'm sure you'll get a reliable answer soon.

The Rubicon is 3WD as it has no locker. Put it into 4wd and both rear wheels will turn plus one of the front wheels. Which one will flip-flop back and forth. In theory, the Honda front dif puts power to the wheel with the most traction.
The Outlander will also go into a similar 3WD mode when you select 4WD. However the Visco lock will lock the front end when one of the front wheels starts to slip so you will have true 4WD.
Most other ATV's also go into 3WD mode when 4Wd is activated - some have dif locks and some don't. For those that don't, you can sometimes cheat the front end by lightly applying the front brakes. I've seen my 4Wd Eiger on slick mud sit there and turn all four wheels, even though it has no locker and is really a 3WD machine.

The Can AM looks to have true 4wd also. Here is a video of a AWD Polaris having a tug of war with a Can AM. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VnFPkly9T0
But on the other hand http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtEW9tcJaLE&NR=1
