HELP.. electrical problem !!!!

Default HELP.. electrical problem !!!!

hey guys!! i have a 05 ds 650 and i keep blowing my tail light bulb but brake light still works. it varys when it well blow, so it has to be a wire touching somewhere. has anyone have this problem, or know where to start looking?

Mine did the same thing. It was a wire that was grounding out I believe inside the taillight. There are 2 wires I believe that go to the bulb, that have a metal housing that holds the bulb itself. One of the wires was touching the bulb metal housing causing my problems. Kind of a headache to find, but I located it. Hope it helps.

Maybe you'll find a short, but I go through bulbs like they're free and it's just from lots of riding. Little bit of open desert and lots of duning but I break the filiment for the tail light quite frequently. Brake one stays intact most of the time.
Been thinking of switching to the 90degree LED 1157 bulbs but after one ot two of those you might as well have gone to a complete LED assembly to begin with. Been too busy since dune season started to search out my options, but it's winding down now so I'll be looking into it in depth here in the off season.
Keep us posted if you find a short or not.
