Cannot Break the Front Tire Bead!! HELP!
#1
Ok, I have my trusty Harbor freight tire changer with bead breaker and I cannot break the bead on my 2003 DS front stock rims and stock tires.
I have broken the bead of skid steer tires with that thing, but cannot get the DS tire to budge.
Next, I tried jumping on it (I'm a big guy) with no luck. Then I brought up my trusty tractor and dropped the bucket exactly on the bead about 8 places and I still cannot get it to budge!!!???

Sidewinder, please describe that in more detail.
A buddy suggested using a 2x10 perpendicular to the rim ( O- ) and driving my truck (Superduty) up it. I just went out and tried that and the tire will go flat (Valve stem is out), but the bead remains in place.

I positioned my floorjack as close to the rim as i could the jacked it up till it was snug with my trailer (just wiggle room left) then positioned the tire under my trailer (just rubber tire now between floorjack and trailer, rim is outside of the trailer) then jacked it up and it squeezed the rubber together and broke the bead.
Hope that helps

Poop. After another 2.5 hours on 1 side of 1 tire, I still could not get the bead to break. I even tried using a large vise. Finally, I tried a concrete chisel (Extremely dull) and a 3lb hammer. I ended up putting a hole in the tire (with only 1/4" of rubber left on the bead), but the bead never broke.
I guess it is time for new front tires.

I don't have a backhoe, but do have a Tractor w loader (Newholland TC33d w/filled rears - weighs nearly 4000lbs). I did use the bucket, but the bead wouldn't break.
I think the biggest problem (Other than the stuck bead) was the weak sidewall of the stock tires - everything that I used would start sliding down the flexible sidewall once it peeled the edge so far. With a stiffer sidewall, it would have popped loose instead of rolling the bead.
