I don't think that was the reason you were banned, matter of fact that wasn't it at all, it was something else that was done. I have notes as a moderator then that tell me different. Listen, I glad you are still here. If I would have offered to jump off a bridge and declared dead those other users would have left and I don't need to justify my actions for something that happened almost 2 years ago.



I am not sure why chirochris didn't state in the first post that he used AMEX I would think some posts might have had a different outcome.

Also, Dave sold out to Internet brands two years ago and his last day would be today as far as ATV Connection is concerned.

aceisback I could set you up as a moderator in the CAN-AM (BRP) and you could police and make sure the transactions take place between the individuals. I can tell you that I doubt Internet Brands, xfreebirdx or myself is interested in setting up code. I should say I am not going to speak for xfreebirdx but I guess a rating system could be done. I just don't have the time to spend. These admin, moderator jobs come with no perks other than just helping out in the time that you have.

I had put a title for you and it might have been military rider or something like that but when we had the software change we lost those individual titles.

I am sure this is done by default and I am going to stand corrected There is a user reputation option in the software but at this point it is turned off. I could see this being abused.

 

Ummm, something was lost in the translation here. That fiasco that I mentioned was the exact reason I was banned. During it I posted a PM to let all of those involved know what we were dealing with. Was that not it??? Anyway, this thread is about getting Chris some peace of mind, not members getting the hose on the garage thread. I'm glad you remember all of that though, made us DS folks a very tight knit group and got us to police our own a little better.

I wish Dave well in his future endevours.

I appreciate the offer to mod but with life where it is for me right now I just don't have the time to dedicate to give it the 110% that I put into anything that I do where reputation is on the line. If I were to guess just by looking at past threads this section had to have been the busiest when all that stuff went down. I was'nt around so I don't really know. I really hope everything works out for you Chris, 2800$ of your hard earned cash is alot to spend and get absolutly nothing. Keep us posted.

I almost got scammed on craigslist. I was selling my BMX bike and this guy found it. He sent me a check for $2,800 dollars, told me to go cash it in, and his "shipper" would pick up the bike. He told me to keep an extra $50 and give the rest of the money to the "shipper." When i recieved the check, it said, there should be a watermark on the back of this check or something like that. i turned the check over and guess what.. NO WATER MARK! If i had cashed the check, I wouldve also lost $2,800. I was also sort of suspicious about this guy though. He could Barely speak english (on e-mail) and he was always sending me messages at times like 1:00-4:30 in the morning. I filed a report with the FBI but they said they cannot do anything until someone cashes the fake check and actually loses the $2,800. I think that's rediculous. Sorry to hear of the loss.. its a shame that there are people whod do such a thing like that out there.

 

So the FBI has to wait for people to lose there money before they do anything. That is like saying call us after you been shot to death.

 

I didn't remember any of the carb thread but it was the notes that helped me with what had happened with your screen name. Your right and at that time posting personal messages in the open forum got an immediate ban under the forum rules which I had no control under. If there was no PM messages Posted you would have not been banned.
