Naw, It's the Stator pickup assembley. I gotten tired of fishing around, and I finally took it to ATV Power toys. It took a while, maybe one week, but Mad Mike narrowed it down to the pickup assembly from the stator. The Carb, is new a well maintain. the fuel breather line is not crimpted, or pinched. Bike runs well untill I step on it, and then it shuts down almost throwning me over the bars, and then under the same breathe It would kick back on and try to flip me of the chair, but only when ever I step on it.

Ok I found the problem. It was a wire running from the bottom of the stator to the wire harness that was shorting out. Fixed and running like a champ. I also picked up a 2007 DS-650 Baja X with less than 5hrs on it for under $4,000 “HOLLY CRAP” this quad makes my 2000 DS-650 feel like I’m ridding a 50cc pit bike. It would be safe to say that for a stock out of the box quad this is one of the fastest quads in its class money can buy. Yes I think I will name her “HOLLY CRAP”

Sorry fellas been out of town just got in tonight. "O, But yea". I Picked up my Bike just before I went on vaccation, and took it to El Merage to Open it up. I don't know if you checked out my page, but my bike is a 2000 DS650 fully upgraded, and fast as hell. Love my DS650, But I want a Honda trx 450r, or a DS450x xc. I love trails, but I just might want to hit up a track or two. The DS 650 is to big, so my second bike has to be a 450. Oya My DS650 problem was a stator wire pinched aswell. Finding out was very costly. I thought it was the rings, then the CDI box, the the carb $2100 later pinched wire, plus stator pick up assembly, and a new JE piston with rings, and a porting job......hum out of control huh? "I SHOULD OF BOUGHT A HONDA"! ....LOL

Big C that is a 2000?? Looks like a 06 or 07 nice ride. On the fat bars did you have to change the clamps on the stirring stem? I just put on the Pro Taper bars on my 07 and the fat bars would not work on my OEM clamps and knucklehead at my local parts house sold me all the wrong parts, Clamps, Fat Bars, etc had to go back and exchange it all for right stuff. I can always install the new bars on my 00 still would like the fat bars.
