Outlander 400 cooling fan not working
#1
It occurred to me recently that I haven't heard my cooling fan kick on. I was hauling some firewood today and just tearing around and I noticed the temperature light was on. Coolant level was fine but the bugger was hot. I let her cool down and began the obvious process of elimination. No blown fan fuse. Took out the fan and connected it to a battery and it kicked right on. Checked all connections, clean them up, hit them with a little WD-40. Reinstalled the fan and took it out for another drive. It didn't overheat until I parted in the driveway and let it idle in the sun. I'm assuming that as long as I'm moving, the radiator is getting enough air to cool it but then once I stop it overheats. Must be some kind of sensor or relay somewhere? Any ideas (and where can I buy one)?
