Default Shock help?

Does Bombardier make heavier springs for the rear shocks of a DS650?

I sent my shock to Works Performance. They just called me and told be they can't make the original spring a double or triple rate because the collars in between would rub on the aluminum shock housing, causing damage to the shock body itself. They also don't have a stiffer single spring option. I'm going to call some dealers today and see if they have anything, just wanted to see if anyone in here knows of anything for sure first.

My options are either find a stiffer spring, or have them build me an entirely new shock. It's about a $650 difference... so I would like to find the stiffer spring first. ha.

Thanks guys.

Don't the factory shocks use collars that slide on the shock body? I thought that was par for the course on a dual rate rear shock like that on the DS.

They do, but they are screwed on to the threads on the bottom of the shock body. If Works Performance was to make a dual rate spring, they apparently wouldn't be able to thread it on, so it would be free floating and rubbing on the shock body.

I already ordered a new shock built from scratch.

No, Bomb only has the one part number for the rear.
