Default 2004 ds 650 starting issue

hey guys i have a 2004 ds 650 that has an issue starting...its really bugging me....i put brand new plugs in it, cleaned all the jets and the filters in the gas tank and takes about 5 minutes of turning the motor over to get it started...once it starts it sounds like it misses then runs great after that, and when warm it will start all day long...has anybody had this issue??if so how did you fix it...any help will be appreciated...Ahhell

You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

What is the temperature like in your location? Mine takes a while to start in the extreme cold. I always put the battery tender on for a little before I crank it. However, it has been easier to start since I put the K&N filter in it.

Okay i had a 01 and did the same thing......Look really really good at the carb bootfrom the intake to the carb....I bet it is weather cracked! to test it the easy way get the machine started and then take starting fluid and spay around the carb, if you have a leak it will idle up the motor.
