not hard at all to split the cases, need a fly wheel puller and impact wrench to get the fly wheel off. pay close attencion to the little spacer washers and remember where the go!
now is the time to think about maybe a stroker crank or big bore

Maybe easy to get apart but you'll need to know all of the various torque specs when putting it back together. I suggest picking up a shop manual and good torque wrench if you are even going to consider tackling it yourself.

I took the bike to the shop to see what he thought (I bought the quad from him) an he narrowed it down to a chatter not a squeal an then found that it was in the head for sure he stuck his stethoscope every where so I took the valve cover off and the only thing that is even loose is the weight centrifugal on the exhaust cam the spring is still in it but I could see how it could make a chattering sound it is very loose could this be my problem </SPAN>

You may have an oil starvation problem. Many people dont know about the oil screen located under the oil tank up front. Pull it out and see what it looks like? You will probably find additional metal shavings in the filter

Ok I opened the drain plug on the motor and drained it out and then opened the plug on the oil tank thinking that there wouldn’t b any oil in it but about a quart spilt on to the shop floor out of the tank but the metal screen was clean
