Default water damage?

well I took my quad through a little creek maybe 4" deep and 2' wide and then it started popping and sputtering and died. I can push start it but it dies when I touch the throttle and the head lights dont work but the brake light does and the temp light is on any ideas?

I would check to make sure your electrical harnesses are not wet. I'd go from top to bottom in your case since it wasn't too deep. If they're wet, dry them out and put some dielectric grease in them to keep the water out. If you went through the water fast it may have gotten up into some higher electrical area.

I agree with the moose-
4" is nothing, I can't imagine any water got into your air box-
You didn't mention what you were riding so it's hard to speculate.

sounds like an electrical issue to me.

ya I was riding kind of hard and splashed it up. I noticed that the boot over the positive terminal was crooked so I am wondering if the water crossed the terminals but I checked the two fuses under the seat and they are good are there any other fuses?
