Just for the low range,IRS,25" tires and not having a chain drive ,I think the Renegade is worth $2000 more to me.

 

can anyone comment first hand on comparing the outlander and rene? im on the fence about a new atv. i posted in the general forum about it. i to was on the fence about a new/used rene or scrammy. i have 2 500cc scamblers and a 400 sport. all are a blast to ride and i feel good letting first timers ride them(not the 400,WAY to powerful)
my main complaints about them is the ground clearance and chain drive.
the rene fits my needs but 2 monkey wrenchs got thrown into the mix,get the 500 or 800 and should it be the rene or outlander?
it will be a 75% play/20% work/5%hunting.
i mostly ride northern cal. parents share a property line with the rubicon trail and i frequent pismo 3-4x a season. during the winter it will move a small trailer/sled hauling hay for the horses and get me down to the river for bird season.
as for the power from 500 to 800 is huge its not new to me. im a HP junky(485whp sti,500whp f250,"sold" turbo banshee)
i can man-handle just about anything but given the longer whellbase and weight the rene really seems like a wet dream to me.

 

Just look at there specs 2011 Can-Am Renegade™ 500 EFI ATVs length,hight,width,suspension ,motor,throttle body ,Transmission,even gas tank. The Outlander and Renegade are the same ATV just one has,racks and different style of plastic.

Just odd that the Outlander with racks retails less then a Renegade.
