Stock DS650 Carb
#1
I switched my tm45 with the sstock carb, and changed my alba race pipe to stock again. I have regained my top end again, but the dang thing wont idle lol When i choke it, it will go to about 1300 rpms give or take.. she seems to run fine and dandy..i had a DJ kit on it, but i changed everything inside back to stock. There is a screw, that i think is a mixture screw or air screw idk what its called but under the carb it looks like this O...o...O and its the middle one. but i seated that screw and turned it 2 1/2 revolutions, then 2 1/4 revs. Maybe I should clean the pilot jet?? any help would be great. Thanks

The idle screw is on the left side (same side as shifter and clutch). It looks like a **** with a Phillips screw in the middle. I think right turns up the idle and left turns it down. When I played with mine it would take a few seconds or more for it to idle up or down. Just play with it until you find what you like.

Your air/fuel mixture screw is the one that's on the bottom of your stock carb. Do a search on here and you will find the exact steps on how to perfect that. It will surely help your idle issue. I'd post the link but I'm in a big hurry at the moment.

I searched the forum and it seems that my pilot jet is the problem. i guess i should change it. I already tinkered with the idle adjustment screw. i backed it all the way in til it shut off then back out. I gonna go play with it again in a minute

Your idle speed screw isn't the problem, it's you air/fuel screw. Would help to get that right first, then deal with the jets.

so i messed with the mixture screw. went from 2 revolutions to 3 revolutions. im pretty sure around 2 is about the right mixture but the thing still wont idle!!

if it idled with the other carb. i would bet your float needs adjusted. i would take the carb to a bike shop to set the float. if that doesn't help your carb is dirty, pilot jet is pluged , in the carb where the gas goes from the pilot to the small hole in the carb bore. soak it in cleaner or boil it then soak it.

I got the same similar problem, it seems the warmer the weather gets the rougher the idle gets until it gets to operating temp.
My mixture screw is siezed (even though it was pulled apart and cleaned in the fall) but i checked my spark plug and they were light brown
Basically I will start it with full choke, after about 3-5 seconds it will start to idle down then i put the choke into the middle stage, revs up a little bit then 1-2 secs it will idle down and bog a tiny little bit so i put the choke all the way in and from then on the bogging gets worst cracking the throttle doesnt work anymore. So before it dies i put it in gear and gently drive it until it gets to operating temp, then it will idle fine.
any input.... :s
