I try to adjust the chain, then axel wont spin freely
#1
I ride a DS650 and I stretched my chain last time I was out (riding at my buddy's track) so when I tighten my chain to the proper spec. Then the axle doesn't spin freely.
The axle bearings are about 4 months old but i can hear some dirt in where the axle spins. i try to avoid as much mud as possible so its not like I'm always in 2 feet of mud but as i said before you can hear dirt in there.
Has any one had this happen to them before? Could this be something simple as there being a bunch of stuff in where the eccentric cam is or is something bent or broken?

Does your axle spin freely without the chain tight? The axle bearings are pretty forgiving since they are tapered bearings....check the pre-load on the axle bearings tighten them just enough so there is no slop in the axle when moving it up and down. If you can hear grinding when turning axle without chain tight....time to pull the bearings out and swap them...not a bad job and fairly easy that's where i would start anyways....good luck to you.
