Ok, they've been out long enough that somebody somewhere has had to run a tank of gas through their machine. What is the gas mileage? Are they as thirsty as they sound like they'd be?

Gonna get either a 2012 1000cc or 800cc but waiting to hear the difference. I don't want to pack gas tanks around everywhere just for an extra few horsies when the 800 probably has enough power to do anything I'd ever want. But if the mileage is similar, why not have the extra horsies?

 

check out can-amtalk.com there a couple guys over there that have the 1000 outy. They should be able to tell you.

If the G2 Can Am is like the G1 Can Am, you have a LOT of fuel left when your low fuel light starts flashing. On my Outlander 800 XXc my low fuel light starts flashing at about 75 miles, but I can go 110 miles on a tank of gas pretty routinely. The last time I filled at a gas station I had gone 109 miles on 4.06 gallons of gas (27 mpg).

Only have 7 miles on mine, but I'm guessing between 70 - 80 miles because my old 800R got only 65 miles to a tank tops, but the tank was also only 4+ gallons.
