Default Clutch problems I think

Just did a re-build on my Ds 720. Fired it up and everything is running smooth. I applied and locked the front brakes ( for safety ) pulled the clutch and kicked the tranny into first and the ds lunged and died I adjusted the cluch out some with the same results. Anytime I've had clutch problems it's been the other way around. Has anyone expirenced this?? Just trying to trouble shoot before I start buying parts. Thanks
