Question Noises..??

I joined the site today to hopefully learn more about my machine and sort out some "noise" issues. First..it is a 2000 Bombardier Traxter 500cc...5 speed electric shift...high/low range...only has 1092 miles since new.

It is used almost exclusively in the Adirondacks...very rough trails...remote country...mudholes, rocks, logs..etc.

Last fall I noticed a very audible "slapping" noise coming from underneath...it felt like something in driveline. Had a few buddies look at..no help. Took it to a dealer...they found nothing as well...I pushed them a little harder and we found a bad wheel bearing on the left front...so, replaced both bearings and ball joints...thought that would do it. No Luck.

I didn't use it at the camp until this past weekend...the noise is still there and a little louder...my buddy at the camp drove it and he feels it is driveline related..?? It is really pronounced on rough terrain and steep grades...so, any thoughts or ideas are welcome.

Thanks...WILMASBOY

Could you get the noise on a video? Might help some of the more mechanically inclined to narrow it down.

Default Video..

Well...I guess it might be possible?? But, I'm back home now..so it will be hard to repeat the conditions.

I would like to get some ideas on what are the potential problems...what could be loose or have too much play...things like that?

Thanks..

The rear bearings that allow the rear axles to move back and forth (carrier bearings?) when cornering can be suspect. They're inside the rear where the axle shafts go in the rear differential. Make a popping sound when they are binding.
