Default engine probs

I just got my raptor back from my shop.. and they did the engine in a bit and put the piston and all that **** in.. well.. i told him and also assumed that he would have to drain teh oil and refill it right.. well we get it back and yesterday we take it out to the dunes and he tells us to go light for the first tank of gas dont go over half thorottle.. so we didnt. and after a while we began to . and the next morning about midday i was heading back to camp and i heard this Clinging noise i was like **** there goes the piston.. so i get back and check some **** out and sure enought the noise is coming from teh cylinder head.. so i check the oil .. it is BONE ****IN dry.. so we put oil in it and it is still making the horrible clinking noise.. we havent rode it sense and we called him and he said that he would check it out.. and fix it .. but wouldnt you think that its not our fault.. of course yeah i should have checked it.. but it was running fine. and i would expect after paying over a grand to have the work done. taht he would make sure it was running well and stuff.. right?? so why would it keep clicking after it has oil.. like it runs but u cant drive it really it makes these harsh squeeling noises when its trying to go up in revs.. is it possible the piston is broken?? can it still run with a broken piston,, are the rings on the piston fried?? and so its making noises.. any help would be very appreciated.. i cant take it to him till monday and i am sick to my stomach about it.. thanks

Its hard to say whether he will fix it free of charge or not. Yeah oil should have been in it but always check ecspecially after a rebuild by someone else. When the guy finished the build he should have checked to make sure oil was circulating to the enginel but if it didnt have any oil in it he couldnt have checked it. I would not touch the bike until I had carried it back to the guy and see what his intentions are concerning the situation. He might not want to fix it for free but you'll just have to wait and see. Sorry for the mishap and hope things turn out for the better. Whatever the outcome the bike needs to be taken back down to see what(if any) damage was done to be on the safe side. Slim

Man that sucks! From what you described in your post, it sounds bad. The bearings don't like to spin without oil. I hope they take care of you. Let us know how it goes. If somebody opened up a shop and did quality work, they would make a lot of cash!

No I have a blue raptor, but i haven't shaved off my fenders. I was racing a lot Friday night and Saturday morning, but then I had a problem with my engine.... I raced to the top of sand mountain at around noon and all of a sudden i hears some pinging in my ****ing engine.. so i jetted back down to my truck and checked out the oil and it was completely bone dry! Not even a trace of oil was showing up on the dipstick! I had just got it back from the day before and the guy at Carrey's Cycle told me that he changed the oil and topped it off. So i called him up A.S.A.P. and b****ed him out and he said he would look at it and if needed, he would fix it for free. I'm taking it back into him tommorrow and then hopefully i will be back down at Sand MOuntain on either the 5th or 12th of March. Either way, i was surprised at how nice the weather was! I was worried when i woke up and there was a skiff of snow on the ground!

I thought it was to strange that this would have happened to two bikes from the same shop on the same weekend.
