simple question???

I got a dsx 650 n Im havin a hard time tightin the chain there is a couple grooves on the rear housing n 2 holes in the sprocket an idk if I need to set the rod in a specific one or does it matter?

Doesn't matter. Stick a allen key threw the sprocket hub into the carrier. Loosen the bolts and rotate the wheel backwards or forward.
