New to quads

The older carb machines like my Brute gobble gas at a much higher rate than any of the efi machines. Having dual carbs doesn't help either. My Grizzly 660 wasn't much better though. I estimate I get about 13 mpg or roughly about 60-65 miles on a 4.8 gallon tank though I haven't stretched it to find out what the true range is. I just go by what it takes to fill it up each time as compared to the trip odometer. At 30 miles it is down to about 1/2 tank. About 20 mpg is around average for most efi quads.

I have done more then a few 100 mile rides with a 660 grizzly without him adding fuel but he sure had to switch to reserve. They have 5.3 gal tank so he has to get 20 mpg atleast.
My 350 can do 70 miles with a 3.8 tank that's also 20 mpg. My 500 with its 5.2 tank also gets 100 miles , also 20mpg.
ATVs sure seem to like 20mpg. 13mpg was what my old 550 2 stoke sled did but it slugged through snow and was rated at 90hp.

I think my Grizzly needed some carb work probably as it didn't run quite right. Even when it was warmed up, you needed to use the choke to start it still or it would die. To be honest it probably needed a lot of work which is the main reason I got rid of it. The Brute just loves gas but I'm ok with that. I'm sure the newer efi 750 is much better on fuel. Even something like an Outlander 1000 gets good fuel economy and it has almost twice the power my 650 has.

I found an HMF exhaust for a Grizzly that I'm going to install on my 570. Any experiences out there with after market exhausts on these things? I have much experience on motorcycle exhaust tuning with carbs but not FI. I know some will say leave well enough alone, but life will be over someday and its part of life to move forward...make changes...
