Anyone ever take their Outlander 850 or 1000 to the sand dunes?

Default Anyone ever take their Outlander 850 or 1000 to the sand dunes?

I am on the fence whether to buy a sport quad or upgrade my existing utility quad. I go riding about 4-5 times a year with buddies. The biggest trip we take is to the sand dunes. Sport quads to great there but the other places I prefer my utility quad.

I recently rode a new Outlander 1000 and was very impressed with its power. Has anyone put one in the sand before? How do they do?

I took my Outlander 650 out on the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park a few weeks ago. Had to keep it in 4wd but it did pretty well. Two younger gents with me rode Polaris Scrambler XP 1000's. They were able to stay up on the dunes in 2wd easily. Comparable to an Outlander 1000 in power and weight.
