Bombardier 2005 500 Traxter
#12
Hey Nick< have repaired several of the Traxter MPEM's from that vintage. They die when jumped of the battery is replaces and cross connected for an instant. Blowing the 20 A fuse is a indicated of the internal diode in the MPEM being shorted. I cut open the MPEM case and replace the damaged components then silicone it back together. I have done several of them including m 4th V6 trigng my own and they have all worked. Last I looked the MPEM is about $1500 if you can find one. My phone id 770 2512 40 80. Burl

2001 Bombardier 500 Traxter
I have the same issue with my 2001 traxter 500 It appears that the MPEM has been damaged due to my handyman tried to start the 500 from another vechicle. I am blowing the 20 amp fuse every time I turn the red switch that activates the electrical system. I am looking to find someone who can repair the MPEM for me instead of having to buy a new MPEM for my 4-wheeler. The best price I have found for a new MPEM is $724 Please let me know if you know someone that I can hire to repair my existing MPEM Thank you. Mick Reina 208 290 5345

Eddie 63,
Two things make a engine start fuel and spark,
First check to see that you have spark by pulling the plug lead off and putting a plug in the boot then holding the electrode of the plug grounded to the engine. When you crank it you should see a spark.
If it cranks and you see a spark the problem is probably not electrical.
most likely it is fuel system or carb.
On the other hand if it does nothing and it started doing that after the battery went dead and was jumped off the computer (MPEM) may be fried. I can fix the large two plug computers for this and only this problem.
I hope this helps.
