Can am Ds450 xmx VS Yamaha YFZ450R
Hi, I’m brand new to the atv industry and I’m looking to buy a sport quad. I’m currently interested in a 2015 Ds450 and the fuel injected (09 or newer) (specifically a 2012 and 2016 model)Yfz450r but I don’t know what I should decide on , I want something that’s fast and fun but I don’t want to be worried about engine problems or other hassles.
I just want something that’s plug and play and powerful.
heres what I’ve gathered about the quads
Ds450
engine problems.
Comes with good Mx parts stock
Clutch problems
Not meant for sand (wasn’t plannn on dunin anyway🤣
fuel injected
no welding frame
good shocks
Yfz
Fuel injected
race proven
needs rebuilds often
frame isn’t as bulletproof at the ds’s
easier to find
still in production
Mods are easier to find
good in sand
I know that the way I wrote that I’m making the Yamaha seem better but I just haven’t been able to find as many problems as the cam am has had.so yeah just let me know what you guys think is better.
definitely leaning a little bit with the cam am even though there not as proven as the Yamahas are in the sport quad section.
oh yeah last thing
im thinking about racing a little bit in the next 2 to 3 years and my main concern is how long I can hold wheelies without the engine blowing 🥴.
dont hate on either quad unless you’ve personally owned one (I know this is a cam am forum btw)
