I've been so busy lately I just got the first little ride in with the FMF slip-on, Powercore IV square, with quietcore endcap, and a K&N. It is way lean, craps out on top, really white plug. I haven't even looked at the carb to see what jet is in it, but doubt I have anything big enough to work. What is the stock jet size and what do you think I will need, even close guesses will help me buy some jets. I just don't see paying 60 bucks for a "jet kit" that consists of a few jets that I can buy for a 5 bucks.
AND WE GOT THE RAPTOR!!! IT is beautiful and awesome. We put the Durablue on it right away, and the nerfs. The DS and the Raptor are a great pair. DS + Raptor instead of vs. This is going to be a lot of fun.
But I better go look at that main jet huh?

Seeing as we're at about the same altitude (4500FT) here are the recommended sizes I use
50 degrees and below 190
50-80 degrees 185
80+ 180

stock is a 165 main
in addition to jet sizes from a 145-200 ( in 5 increments) there is also a new jet needle that has slightly different taper and is not nearly as lean as the stocker - I got a noticable improvement in throttle response with the new needle. All in all I think the dyno jet kit was well worth the 60 bucks.

Rocky Mountain ATV have the KN jet kit (same) for $45. They send pretty good instructions. Had a HE!! of a time getting out the bowl screws. I would say the kit's worth the money. I went with their reccomendations and it was right on. 185 main, But I'm a couple miles north of you.LOL

Thanks DSKurt, Majorecho, I just ordered the jet kit from Rocky Mountain ATV. I've bought stuff from them before and it always gets here fast. Good to know I'm only paying 45 for 5 dollars worth of jets instead of 60. Every little bit helps. Elevation here is 4500, we ride at 6,000 a lot. With this much of a jet change I bet I'll be looking at a pretty good kick eh? That FMF is still pretty loud, even with the "Quiet Core" end cap. But it does leave room for modification. I wish I could have gotten a PowerCore Q, but it is not out yet and this one is getting pretty used.
