Extended swingarm for the DS?
#11
The ignition boxes that have the 8500RPM limit may not be available any more. Our supplier[Nippondenso] seemed to have extreme problems producing them and made it very difficult for us. The last batch that we recieved and sold out of almost imediatly, was ordered last September. The boxes with the same curve and no rev limiter are in stock as there is no delivery problem with them.
On dyno tests done by me, an honest 7.5 HP gain was seen with a Team Pami ignition box, Big Gun exhaust, and K&N filter on the carb. The power curve was also enhanced to improve low end power gains.

Well I am kinda iffy about no rev limiter. I don't want to blow up the DS because I missed a gear. What impact will missing a gear and overreving the engine cause? I am interested in the cdi box still but I think that I will need a tac first. What do you think? You seen to have good knowledge of the DS so any help would be appreciated.

Although I wish that I had the limited version to sell, the Rotax motor that we have can survive the occasional trip to 9000+RPM. I've heard several stories of 10,000+ revs with no damage. This is not to say that the motor is ok to rev that high on a constant basis, but like the quad itself, it can take some abuse. If you are revving that far, you will notice it, due to the drop in power from being past the power curve.
A tach might not be a bad idea, but not an absolute nessecity. I do not have a tach myself, but I've gotten rather used to what RPM sounds like from all the time I spend on the dyno. Keep in mind that the more mods you put on the motor, the further into the red line you will accidently go
