Hey just wondering if anyone has any ideas to help me out. I have had a ds650 for about 1 month now and I've raced It twice at my local motocross track, the first time i bent a back rim. The second time out I bent both back rims in 4 or 5 spots each, and also bent the rear axle 3 to 4 inches on both sides. I am no where near pushing this machine to what It was built for, and I also never landed hard or bottomed It out. Is the machine just to heavy for this kind of racing?

The 22 XCT are tires from ITP http://www.itptires.com/ for your bent rims get some renforceing rings or bead locks on new rims fromhttp://www.championwheel.com/. For your axle http://www.durablue.com/

no, the stock axle is not the problem. the problem lies with the thin side walls of the original tire. XCT's are a nice 6 ply tire made by ITP. you get the rear 22 inch size, your bent rim/axle problems will be taken care of.

Thanks for the help, one more question on the tires are you using the 22x11-9 or the 22x11-10. And arew you using the stock rims with them or aftermarket rims.

The 10psi will help with bending the rims in the same way that a taller tire[22"] with a stiffer side wall[6-ply] will, but it will give a worse ride as well as less traction. If you still bend rims with 22" tall tire and 6 ply side walls, then you will want to get yourself some wheels with reinforcing rings.

Hey ezwheeler, I've Had mine for about two months now. I ride at the sand pits alot, but i really bought it to race at cattle congress. Have you tried racing yours out there yet? I've done it twice and It's fun. Now if I can keep from bending parts It should be better yet! Have you changed any thing on yours as far as tires or wheels? You should consider racing on sept. 13th, that's the next race.

If you ride MX, don't use 22" tires, go to 18's, get reinforcing rings and the durablue eliminator axle. The 22's will only make your bike tippy. They're unbeatable in the desert, but they suck for mx, I ran 21's on the back of my 250r and it was a handful around the track.
