bently, i have not raced my ds.the last time i raced i used my 250r and that has been a while.thought about trying the ds but was not sure how it would handle the supercross style track.how have you done?how does it do on the track?my tires and wheels are all stock and knutz is right the traction is not good with 10 psi of air in the tires.mine is stock except for a modified exhaust end cap and modified upper a-arms and a uni-filter.sept 13 is the fair race.i work second shift but maybe will take the night off.when do you usually ride at the pits?

Minty is right, 22" would suck for MX[I know, I do it once in a while]. But when you go to the 18" tires, I would suggest 8" wheels with bead locks. The short side wall makes a heavy quad like the DS likely to roll a tire off the bead at low tire presures. 18" tires on 9" or 10" rims don't allow enough side wall to conform to track surfaces well.

ezwheeler,
The DS handles the motocross track well, It corners very well. I can make the doubles on the back side of the track and I've only raced twice. I plan on racing on the 13th if I can figure something out about not bending parts, last time out I finished 5th in the c main. Where did you purchase your DS. and when you say you bent the axle 4 times have you put a new one in every time. I would like to get together and go ride sometime, probably would have to be on the weekend because I work first shift. I would like to see you come out to race but would also hate to see you bend parts, because with stock stuff I see no way around It. What Have you done to modify your A arms.

I haven't got a new axle yet but have been thinking about a dura blue.i think they are the only aftermarket axle for the ds.i take mine out and straighten it in the press.i can't get it perfect but with in .025"
if you want i can straighten yours or get it a lot better,no charge.i machined the back side of the upper a-arms to move them back and give an additional 2-3 degress of positive caster.this did help a lot but i still think it needs a steering dampner.
