DS440 a myth?

Hey guys. I was doing something on here one day, and I saw something about a "Bombardier DS 440" They said something about a twin 2 stroke 440CC. Have any of you heard anything about it?? I think it would be a "wake up" call to Yamaha and Honda, and just MIGHT get the ball rolling again. I doubt it will happen.. But.. It's okay to dream.. isn't it?

I know for sure they don't make it now. I've never heard about a 440 2 cylinder 2-stroke, but I have heard people 'wishing' Bombardier would use the 380cc 2-stroke twin found in some sleds in a new ATV. Some rumors about it being made, but until I see it, I wouldn't believe it. I remember being on the forums before the 400EX came out, and there were rumors that the new Yamaha would be coming out at about the same time or possibly before the Honda. Hrrrm, looks like that rumor was 2 years early. My guess is Yamaha may have already started doing R&D at that time, which probably spawned the rumors. Maybe it wont take 2 years for this one, if it ever exists.

If Bombardier make a DS440 it will be a 4-stroke. The two strokes are dead thanks to pollution controls. If Bombardier want to get in to quad racing like they are in snowmobile racing they will has to make a 440 4-stroke to race in the AMA and GNCC Pro class. The DS650 is great in the desert and sand dues but there is no open Pro class in the AMA and the DS650 is too big to race in the woods in GNCC. So if Bombardier want to get serious in ATV racing they will have to make a 440 4-stroke.
