What is faster Quest 650 or Grissly 660
#1
Well I heard that the quest was faster. But would like to confirm it. I have drove nothing but yamaha and am starting to have a lot of problems with the newer models mostly becuase they put to much plastic and use cheap parts (Kodiak ultra and Grissly 600.) They are just not holding up compaired to my style which is drive them like a sport bike. But I like the new quest and can anyone let me know which is faster and how the clutch and belt tranny handle in water.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I dont have alot of experience on the Grizzly, but I have about 15 miles on the Quest, I would say the Quest handles 200 % better, It rides smooth, handles great, is very pricdiable, LOTS of power, in either low or high range it spins the wheels freely, (all four) on the road, gravel, dirt, grass etc. The acceleration is very brisk and exciting, You dont have to rev up the engine to make it move like the Grizzly, as for water, you have to get the water above the seat to get the water into the belt breather, unlikely for me.
I'll know more after this weekend as how it pulls the weight sled, I hope it will outpull my Traxter, it has not been beat yet by any ATV, that means there were over 100 ATV 4X4's at last pull, I pulled 183 ft, a TraxterXT pulled 179 ft, then a Grizzly 155 ft, then a Honda Rubicon at 151 ft.The rest of the gang was somewhere behind that.
We work the ATV buggies, I'm hoping the Quest will hold up to the Traxter, if so it will be a grand winner for our use as the Traxter has been the best so far and why I'm interested in how this Quest works.
Lots of fun.
Good luck

Mar,
I just finished a head to head test ride of a Kawi, Grizz, Ruby and Quest. I found both the Kawi and Grizz to be faster than either the Ruby or Quest. I can't confirm anything with GPS numbers, but they both definately "felt" faster. Don't get me wrong though, the Quest is plenty fast enough. If you haven't checked out the Quest yet, I highly recommend you do. I was just about to close a deal on a Ruby when the dealer recieved the Quest - he suggested I take one for a test ride. I was totally blown away by the Quest and I just finalized a deal on one today (Hope to have it by next weekend). All I can say is, take one for a test ride. I think you'll be impressed. One other thing, they come with a 3 year warrenty, so reliability shouldn't be a problem.
Cheers,

I'm impressed and surprised that the two other atv's you mentioned are quicker, that does not hold with other reports.
As for the pulling contest, the Quest with 650 lbs on board pulled 174'2" and spun the wheels freely (need more weight)the Grizzly pulled 140'4" with similar weight and smoked the belt.
For me this makes 3 of 3 atv pulls I won first 2 were with the Traxter and the last with the Quest. The Traxter also pulls very very well.
One thing that surprised me is the Grizzly always came in second and atleast 30' behind.
We have over 100 atv's show up for some of these, all 4X4 models.

Have not seen the 650 Twin pulling, thought there was going to be one this past weekend, however it never showed up. Would love to see one pulling and even beating the Bombardier pair I have, Im not interested in winning as much as just having some cheap fun, a few bucks to play with the atv sled is the cheapest way to spend a weekend playing and learning.

I think the Grizzly you are mentioning in the pull competition is a old Grizz 600, not the NEW Grizzly 660. As a matter of fact the Grizzly 660 is faster than the Bombardier. I am not sure that the engine is the problem, but it probably has something to do with the fact that the Quest is MUCH MUCH heavier. By the way the new Grizzly handles better also and the ride is the smoothest I have ever felt in an ATV. I did like the Quest also, but not more than the Grizz 660. That's my opinion.

Hey i have a 650 prairie and i also can spin all four tires in 4wd high and low, also in 2wd i can pop wheelies in high and low. As for the towing my dad has a two wheel drive toyota tundra that he stupidly got stuck in yesterday in a mudhole and my brother pulled him out on his 650 prairie. We bought three 650 prairies.
I also popped a wheelie in reverse with my differential locked. Yeah i was in a state of shock, and my heart was beating really fast.
Since my 4-wheeler only weights 604 dry i almost know i can go faster on mine. I have gone 65mph and ran out of road. P.S. I weight 225. I am not dissin the quest or the grizz a matter of fact I think the quest is my 2nd choice if it only had it where you can turn 2wd and 4wd on and off with a locking diff. and weighted at least 60 lb. lighter i might have got one.
And as for the 660 grizz i do like all the features but the old grizz just did not hold up like it should and i know my prairie 650 will cause i had a 98 prairie 400 and a 220 bayou. I do believe the quest will hold up good it is built very strong and rugged.
I would like to see these three match up in some events. I would include the 700 sportsman but i think these three will beat it. I did read in dirt wheels mag. and atv action mag. where the 650 prairie was the best at performance, accelaration, speed, and jumps. It did say the new grizz had a smooth ride like a cadillac but it said the 650 prairie had a ride like a corvette.
I hope there are no hard feelings because we all are atv riders riding the top machines out, no question about that.

It is true you can't select 2wd on the quest but just like the traxter it does have a locking front diff. The difference is it does not require rider input. If one front wheel spins faster than the other the pump in the diff engages the cluthes. I feel this is a much better setup than having to pull a lever or push a button. This is the only thing i don't like about the prarie. The only other concern i would have is the light frame and plastic. You'll have to let us know how it holds up. I think they did the right thing by doing away with the weak composite racks like on the 400. As for how the prarie 650 pulls i was at a pull last month. I won with 185ft pull with my traxter. The prarie pulled 172ft. It had alot of speed but didn't seem to have the traction.

Sprintpusher,
Haven't you figured out by now, that nobody cares what you think when it comes to an honest review! Your so full of $hit, that it makes the time you take to type your responce an example of wasted effort!
