ATTN. DS 650 riders !!!!

If you had read my description, I didn't say to raise or lower the shock on the mount. If you move one hole on each mount, it will re-aim the shock in the direct you need.
If you asking shock manufacturers what makes a shock break, of corse they are going to say it's the chassis. If you ask the chassis designer for Bombardier, he will blame it on the shocks. If you try to pass the piston through the fluid too fast, something has to give. It could be the valve giving up, or it could be the valve holding and the shaft bending. Or it could be both, the valve failing and sticking in the body, causing the shaft to bend. But hey, you already decided that the DS sucks[in your opinion] a long time ago, so I'm sure there is no convincing you of anything else, I just find it curious that your the only person to have ever seen this problem. I wonder though, since the 250R is suposed to be the perfect chassis, does that mean that shocks never bend or fail on them?

I haven't bent any yet. I bottom it out on jumps every time I ride. I have put in a lot more pre-load and it seems to help. Thanks, Knutz. It is very possible that your shocks mounts aren't in the correct places. Jigs are used, but people are still involved. Your bike could be a day after New Years day one and the guy just got a divorce and is way hung over and wasn't paying attention. That is a dramatization, but shiznit happens. If they are that messed up, call Bombardier. I'm sure if the chassis isn't correct they'll assist.

Sorry Biggy,
these guys are right. Shocks bend and break all the time. I race snowmobiles (x-country and sno-cross) and I have seen many shock shafts bend and break, while there was nothing wrong with the mounts. Sounds to me like your frame is tweaked from to many hard landings. Seen that happen to a snowmobile to. Shocks can only absorb so much of an impact before something snaps or bends.

sure you can brake any thing but if there is a alingment problem your only going to amplify the problem ..as of today Ive seen three ds650s and there all off ...so you go ride your ds and take a Big chance at killing your self every time you jump . ill fix my mounts and take a little less chance at doing that . my shock suplier say's he will warranty my shocks from braking . but not if the alignment is off .so im fixing the problem .end of story ...
