does any one have a CT pipe for their ds? If so do you like it, how loud is it, and how much power do you gain. If you dont like it what do u suggest? price does not matter nor does sound. any info would be appreciated. thanx for ur input.

I don't have one but from what CT told me, they use larger diameter head pipes for more topend power. The tailpipe can be used as a slipon though. The tailpipe uses 12 discs. They used to chrome the headpipes, but now they switched to ceramic coating. They said the chrome would flake off.

I have been using the CT Racing pipe on my '00 DS for about a year. The performance is great, the fit and finish left a little to be desired, but from what I have read about others' experiences with pipes from other manufacturers this seems somewhat normal. If they are ceramic coating the pipes now it will probably solve my biggest complaint about the pipe. One thing to be aware of is if you plan on upgrading to the Edelbrock Quicksilver carb in the future, this pipe won't work due to clearance issues, I am told.
The power increase is significant, it is loud but controllable. If you order the spark arrester, disc system, you can reduce the number of discs to lower the sound output. The less discs the less volume and performance. If, as you say, loud is not a problem then you can run the race end cap for max performance, and to me it sounds great. I never ride in populated areas so loud is okay with me.
It's a good pipe and it has held up well. Hope this helps.

KenDS The Edelbrock will now work with all pipes the pump was moved too the left side of the carb. I have the Graydon Proline pipe which is just like the CT just different color. The QwikSilver should be out by X-mass they need a new throttle cable bracket and longer throttle cable. When they get all the parts together they will be available. I might be up at Comp Park Sunday come on by and check it out.

Hey CalDS650, Tell us about those TCS shocks again. Do you sit a little lower than stock? I have the Works steelers which are easily converted to TCS. I think the TCS rebuild adding rezzies is about $500.
.....Now I know the stock (Arvin RydeFX) front shocks really suck, and the works shocks were a huge improvement, but I would like to see a little more "race sag", especially in the front, where I have resprung it anyway using the stock springs plus one of the works "helper" springs. It is softer and saggier than the works setup was, but I want more. Due to cost, about $500 to rebuild the works front shocks, I will probably do just that and wait on the rear shock rebuild. What do you think? I haven't talked myself into this quite yet.

CALDS650, waayy cool! I now know what I'll be buying the wife for Christmas. Thanks for the info and the invite. I would love to check it out, but I will be working on my equipment this weekend in preparation for our first Glamis trip of the season on the 19th. I'm a little embarassed to admit that I haven't touched the DS all summer, it's time for a complete end to end service. As you know the season is just starting for sandaholics like myself.

Dude, Dynojet used my DS to make thier kit. I have a CT pipe. The dyno showed a gain of about 15hp on the low end but a loss of 1/2 hp at the top. My biggest complaint was with the bluing. It is not as loud as the Big Gun or Yosi., which my friends have.
